No Way Jose!

Having no particular allegiances to either side that played last night I cannot but admire what Jose Mourinho brings to football. While Rad is livid about the style of football he encourages his sides to play, I am of the opinion that with the opposition he has faced over this seasons Champions League, there was no alternative. Jose Mourinho brings to the table a ruthless efficiency which is not seen in the vast majority of managers. Faced with possibly the most exciting attacking team in Europe at the moment he had two options, play to his strengths or play “sexy football” and lose badly. Stepping back for a moment and looking at where he has brought his team this year, we see a team leading their domestic league, in the final of the Coppa Italia and in the final of the Champions League…….not bad! He deserves all the plaudits he has been receiving in my opinion.

Finally, just a quick point to make before I go watch Liverpool reign supreme in Europe. I have noticed a somewhat similar school of thought held by many towards another prominent controlling figure in Europe. Comparing Jose Mourinho to Michael O'Leary I find, can help clarify my thoughts on the matter. O’Leary runs possibly the most efficient and well-run airlines in the world. Famed for their no-nonsense approach to the travel industry, Ryanair operate an efficient, effective and successful business model. Like Michael O’Leary, Jose Mourinho will resort to any means to be the best, even if he becomes hated by most on the way.

More power to him!

The 'Special' One

After last nights antics in the Champions League I felt I really had to voice my strong feelings about Jose Mourinho. I have nothing against Inter Milan and I'm in not a Barcelona supporter but I just think Mourinho brings all the wrong things to the game. His sides are about as exciting to watch as MK Dons vs Scunthorpe (no offence Scunny and Dons fans). Its just a pity that anti football is going to win the champions league this year. Would have been nice to see Ferguson and Mourinho go at it in the final. I'm sure Candella will have a slightly different opinion on this!

Flame to Fame: First Post

Flame to Fame is an ambitious project which will strive to take a positive step backwards into pre-monetary exchange. In a world controlled by money, and at a time where the fallacy of currency as a means of transaction is being suggested, we will attempt to trade through word of mouth.

The first item up for exchange tipifys the "back to basics" approach which is being saught. The first form of trade known to man was bartering, and has its origins in pre-historic times. It seems appropriate therefore that the first item for exchange is simply a match, that which proivides fire, essential for the development of humanity!
